Jacobus 5 Miler Recap

Saturday morning was the Jacobus 5-Miler Race.  This race was part of the York Road Runners Club Winter Series. (There are 2 more races left - Springettsbury 5-miler and Indian Rock 10K!)

My friends from Gruver Fitness Bootcamp met before the race and ran the 1 mile "Fun Run". Check out those smiles - we do look like we're having fun, don't we?

The area I live in is not lacking in hills, and this race was no exception! The race starts with a nice long downhill and winds along Lake Williams - which was gorgeous all covered in snow! I started out moving right along, trying to take advantage of the down hill.  But, as the saying goes...what goes down, must go back up! Thank goodness for Stephanie and Heidi running along with me.  We took some walk breaks as we climbed the STEEP hill at the end.

If you check out my mile times, it's easy to spot which mile held the mega hill!

After the race finished, we all ran one more mile for a total of 7 miles that day! It was nice to enjoy some beautiful weather and running with some great people! Don't worry - 2 days later we had 8 inches of snow.
